Gortin snow

On 20th January a group of 8 walkers headed for the snowy Gortin Glens to Mullaghcairn for a four and half hour trek. And snowy it was….. 1.5 feet deep in places. Fresh footsteps in the snow provided a trail for others to follow. However at times there was uncertainty of where the actual path on our approach to the Cairn was!  We were not alone on this beautiful snowy terrain. That was re-enforced by a snowball fight with fellow walkers at one stage. No winners!
It was an unexpected refreshing day with majestic scenery because of the snow.
