After completing the recent walk at Sheenun in the Dartry hills, those participants who were old enough to remember Larry Cunningham’s 1960’s hit would have agreed that it was indeed “Lovely Leitrim”. Spring had belatedly arrived and the mild and bright weather allowed the dozen ramblers to fully appreciate the excellent panoramic views to the North over Lough Melvin, overlooking parts of Leitrim, Fermanagh, and Donegal and out to the Atlantic Ocean at Donegal Bay.
After a thoroughly enjoyable walk over minor roads, bog roads, mountain and bog, the party enjoyed a well deserved snack in the appropriately named “Truly Scrumptious” cafe in nearby Garrison , Co. Fermanagh, before returning to Omagh
