On Saturday 21 July 21 W T Ramblers met at Dunserverick Harbour to complete a shortened walk to Portballintrae of approx 9 miles. The weather although cloudy was dry and warm. The walk took in sections 3 & 4 of The Causeway Coast Way which stretches from Ballycastle to Portstewart [33 miles] The start of the walk took the Ramblers past Dunserverick Castle which is in ruins and then continued unto The North Antrim Cliff Path which is described as the finest cliff scenery in Europe by Walk N.I.  Headlands and Bays known as Port Noon, Portnabrock, Bengore and Benbane Head, Hamiltons Seat and Port Na Spanagh were passed by. Further along the path one of the best panoramic views of The Giants Causeway can be had. The Causeway is an area of approx 40,000 interlocking basalt columns formed 60 million years ago, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. From here the path continued over Runkerry head, past Runkerry House and unto the beach which stretches to Portballintrae. The walk along the beach tempted some Ramblers to paddle in the water and was the perfect end to the walk. Tea, Coffee and scones was then served at The Bushfoot Golf Club.A great day was had by all.
