The West Tyrone Ramblers hosted the Ulster Federation of Rambling Clubs Annual General Meeting in An Creagan on Saturday 13 October 2018. A number of West Tyrone Ramblers were among the 50 delegates who attended the AGM and partook of delicious tea and scones upon arrival in An Creagan. The UFRC committee dealt with the business of the AGM; reporting on a successful year’s work, reporting on the financial status of the club and accepting resignations from the committee and electing new members in to the committee. Anne McGarvey, Chairperson of the West Tyrone Ramblers, gave a power point presentation on favourite local and distant walks and illustrated some interesting experiences of the WTR. Claire Saunders gave a presentation on the value and outcomes from the funded project ‘Walking in the Community’ , this project is coming to a close this year. Liam Campbell currently with the Lough Neagh Environmental Agency gave a presentation on the Sperrins from a conservation and environmental perspective. After a satisfying lunch, members of the the WTR committee led a walk around the An Creagan grounds. Despite the inclement weather, 30 delegates enjoyed the 4 mile walk.
