Last Saturday ten of us set out for the Derryveagh Mountains in Donegal to walk Dooish Mountain and its environs. The day was dry and pleasant enough for walking but there was a gusty, nagging wind when we got up some distance on the hill. From the top of Dooish we descended and skirted along the side of Dooishnasagart until we came to a viewpoint overlooking Glenveagh lough and house. That was far enough and we then retraced our steps getting back to the cars just as a light drizzle began to fall. Cue comments about successful prayers but there were no unkind remarks about devil’s luck.
