Binevenagh Mountain is one of those places that is normally seen from the shoreline along the Causeway Costal route, rather than from its summit. 18 ramblers started the walk from St.Aidan’s Church Magilligan.  We walked up the steps past the Holy Well, through the gate and unto a natural forest track and came upon the first blue bells of the year (early I think a lovely sight).  We crossed the open ground beneath Binevenagh’s cliff  face and perched on the side of the hill a ancient Mass Rock.  We then gradually climbed to the summit and had out lunch at the lake.  We were blessed with fantastic views and good weather. We then made our way down the mountain and across forest paths back to St. Aidan’s Church.  We called into the Anglers Rest for some refreshments.  A good day had by all!
