The walk on Saturday 17 February 2018 should have been to the summit of Sawel, the highest peak in the Sperrins, but deep snow and challenging weather on the mountain dictated a ramble at lower levels, closer to home. In the event the 14 club members who braved the conditions had a very enjoyable 8 mile walk in the Gortin Glens, following a route which took them to the top of Mullaghcarn and along forest paths still covered in snow. The weather was dry and bright and apart from a mist patch or two conditions were perfect for an easy “B” on home soil. Thanks to Bernie and Mary for leading and Trish for the photos.
